Got news that my submission for the Oakley Design Brief got shortlisted into the final gallery. Here’s the result:

(You may notice that this is an evolution from my eye tattoo illustration)
The winner will be announced later this year but I doubt my chances of winning are slim as the competition looks pretty good. Nevertheless, was happy to make it to the shortlist, period. :)

Don’t quite remember how I came across it, but found the folks that did those lovely packaging of Gü and Dorset Cereals on your supermarket shelves - Big Fish. Good to discover the minds behind the design!

Yep. Have been playing around with Processing and it seems fascinating that all the programs I normally illustrate with generally work around the principles of Mathematics. So here’s what I constructed from specifying co-ordinates:

Heres’ another playing with the MouseY and MouseX function forcing it to create some replicas of sorts while tracing where your mouse is and calculating the color variations:

As a regular subscriber to Smashing Magazine’s feed, they recently published this amazing article about creating Divine Proportions for the web. This ratio used throughout the history of Art from Leonardo da Vinci through to Le Corbusier, its pretty interesting to see its ramifications into web design & layout.

Here’s more about its history of the Golden Ratio from Wikipedia. And if one is keen on using the principles of grids in their web layout, it makes good reading from Antonio Carusone about his process in designing a site layout based on the grid at his Aisle One blog.

Went to the Portishead gig at Hammersmith Apollo. Was awesome!!! Although I may look into investing in a pair of “Gig” shoes which give extra height to get a better view of the stage. (Pictures courtesy of Dave’s phone. Thanks!)

It’s been a while since I last updated this site! Hence thought it was time to give it a revamp. New items include:
- A list of new works (and some perennial old favs) and;
- A blog - a record of what I’ve been up to and any new projects that gets updated on this website from here on.
All I can say is - hope you enjoy browsing through the stuff! :)

ISH magazine is a lifestyle/events magazine (distributed mostly in the Asia Pacific region) covering the spectrum of art, design & lifestyle. For their December 2007 issue, I got interviewed along with David Lee, another Singaporean about our thoughts in the participation of the Cut and Paste Digital Tournament (which I came in 1st runner up and got this nice macbook! YAY!!)
